Mercer Motorsports

Update: May 2007

Well, it's about time I got the website updated. Mercer Motorsports is taking a new direction this season and competing in the most exciting new motorsport around, Xtreme Rock Racing. The XRRA (Xtreme Rock Racing Association) has been growing wildly in the west with both team and fan participation at record levels and has expanded east with the new XRRA Eastern Pro Division. Check the schedule and come on out for some great racing action.

Welcome To The Future of Off-Road Racing

XRRA Rock Racing is the most Xtreme Off-Road racing action ever witnessed. A competitor
has to stay within the confines of the course and the only judge is the stopwatch. Just straight forward timed runs. The action is fast paced and the atmosphere is all sportsmanship. Though it is a race against time, the challenge is to finish.

At the end of the day, seconds make the difference. It amounts to the difference between the shift of the clutch or the finesse of the throttle. A driver's ability to make a split second decision determines the outcome. Racers/Drivers must rely on skill and picking the right line rather than simply throttling through. Drive too aggressively and you may end up cage down. The wide-open action is as much fun for the spectators as it is for the Drivers.

JELLICO, TN - Sept 18-21, 2005

Mercer Motorsports and W.E.ROCK Team # 770, Southern Rocks eXtreme rolled into Jellico, Tennessee September 18-21 for the W.E.ROCK East Series Grand Finale'  event and the extreme Rock Crawling action was non-stop for both the team and the excited fans alike. The early fall weather in the Tennessee mountains was absolutely beautiful and the natural terrain courses were as challenging as ever.

Jellico has become one of the best venues for competitive rock crawling events in the Eastern US in the past few years, and when the dust settled on Sunday, this event had been just as amazing as many of the now legendary Jellico rock crawling battles of the past few years. Our team was able to put together a very respectable 4th place finish in our class, while gaining valuable experience competing alongside some of the legendary names of the sport. The 2004 World Championship team of Randy Torbett and Eric Nixon put on a rock crawling clinic for every competitor and fan in attendance and showed just why they are the reigning World Champions of our sport.
